PAUT is an advanced ultrasonic NDT technique which employs multiple ultrasonic piezoelectric crystals for generating and receiving ultrasound with the help of software fed data input. PAUT is used for corrosion mapping of the material and gives fine details of the pitting, uniform or localized corrosion. PAUT enables the operator to view different scan modes simultaneously like A-scan, B-scan and C-scan.
This is much faster inspection technique as compared to conventional ultrasonic thickness gauging and also gives a permanent record of the scan data in soft form.
PAUT corrosion mapping finds its application in construction, manufacturing and inservice plants includes inspection of rolling plates, piping systems, pressure vessels, storage tanks and much more.
